I have thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend! I made a large pot (I have a 16 quart stock pot) of turkey vegetable soup with some whole wheat pasta in it. One bowl, and I needed a nap - it must have a lot of L-Tryptophan in it!
My house is wonderfully clean - even the gas range is sparkling. But I did manage to get a great deal of rest this weekend, and manage my power walks.
I just loved Florida Sun's blog Saturday - Especially the picture of her and Josh. I had my son when I was 34, so Bobbie Anne, here's one of me at 34:
I've got one of me and James somewhere - I'll scan it and post it when I find it. I can't believe the similarities in our lives - I went through a windshield when I was 18, lost a recording contract, and had to undergo about three years of cosmetic surgery. The emergency room surgeon put 275 stitches in my face that night - Thank goodness he was a cosmetic surgeon that just happened to be on rotation that night!
Anyway, your blog made me think about a lot of things that I'd been through, and reminded me of just how thankful and grateful I am for my life. We have to do what's best for ourselves - we forget that! When don't realize how wrong it is to "give 'til it hurts" because when we've pretty much exhausted ourselves, we're of no use to anyone else. And isn't it amazing just how many selfish, using b***ards there are out there that will use us up and then think we'll take more. Not for me - Not any more!
Well, folks - I've off to make my tea. If I don't get too sleepy, I'll blog some more!
