Avoiding Holiday Gain

Sunday, November 25, 2012

Goal: avoid the holiday gain.

Method: I don't feel like picking up tracking again during the holidays, but I've had quite a bit of success limiting my eating to meals only in the past. So the rule: eat only at mealtimes. If I want a cookie I can save one to eat with dinner. The only exceptions will be the 7th (our only Christmas party), the 20th (my birthday), and Christmas Day itself. Snacking is my biggest bane - it's when I splurge on sugary treats. That should solve 80% of the problems I'm having right now.

Accountability: I'll also participate in the Ninja break challenges and continue to weigh myself weekly.

It looks like you have a very good plan! I'd love to hear how it works out.

I'm definitely a holiday food justifier. For me, tracking is essential. Otherwise, I'll eat each meal as if it's a feast, instead of just the actual feasts.

I think it's smart to only eat a meal times. Snacking is my downfall also.

If you're not going to track, at least plan ahead! I sounds like you are doing that with your "special" days - but planning your menu also will help make those meals healthier options! Good luck!

Good for you that sounds like a good plan. So far i haven't went really overboard for snacks. I do like to have my chocolate though. Good luck with your plan. Maybe trying to do other things with your hands would help too. emoticon
