As you all know I judge my fitness DVDs by how easy they are for me to follow as a blind exerciser. Thanks to SP I found another cardio DVD that I really like and it is as easy to follow as most of Coach Nicole's videos! It is low impact aerobics and probably not as vigorous for most people, but it made me sweat and I enjoyed it which is another important factor for me! It is the Staying Fit Cardio DVD featuring Andrea Metcalf. It is part of a 3 DVD set: Cardio, Strength & Pilates. So far I have done the entire cardio video and parts of the strength. So, today I want to review the cardio. You can catch an exerpt of it here on SP:
This is a 12 minute exerpt and it is good, but it doesn't show you that this DVD can really make you sweat! It is a mix of cardio boxing moves, old school aerobics and almost dance fitness! It is fun. Andrea is easy to follow and she offers tips for keeping it easy or bumping it up. The music is fun and the 50 minutes flew by! When I was nearing the end I was draining and not able to put as much into it, so it did work me. The directions were verbally explained and I'm sure she showed all the moves very well. I like that she explains the moves clearly and concisely. there is not alot of chatter like with Leslie Samsone, who I do love BTW, but I just want to get the explanations without all the other chit chat! It was very much like a coach Nicole workout where she explained the moves and then offered gentle encouragement. It is a good video with a warm up and cool down and stretching. It offers low impact cardio with suggestions for bumping it up for more intermediate exercisers. It is fun too! I'm glad I purchased it on SP's suggestion. So far I am not as impressed with the Strength DVD, but I have not given it my full attention yet. I hope the Pilates is as easy for me to follow. I keep hoping coach Nicole wil do a Pilates DVD like the videos she has here on SP. I want something I can follow. All in all I give this Cardio DVD a big thumbs up and recommend it to my Spark Buds who don't want a advanced workout, but still want to feel the burn and want to sweat! As I said before, it is fun and easy to follow! I was very happy with it!
I took a day off from exercise and good food choices yesterday. Funny thing is that once you start eating healthy it is hard not to! I still found myself figuring calories in my head and thinking do I want to eat this since I really don't like it? Should I have this glass of wine or should I have water? I had the wine BTW! But, I had water when I got home! I took a day off from exercise, but I'm back at it today! My shoulders still are a bit sore from all of those pushups! I know I can reach my 100 goal if I just put my mind and body to it! Going to do my indoor fitness walks now!
