Well, it's been about 10 months since I've blogged. And in that time I've gained a lot of weight. Things at my job got quite hectic and we had a lot of mandatory overtime. I was exhausted all the time and fell off the healthy wagon. I got back up to my original weight, gaining back the 35 pounds I'd lost. It was very depressing.
So about 6 weeks ago, I decided it was time to make myself a priority again. I started off really slow, not with a specific plan. I just wanted to eat healthier and be more active. Now after 6 weeks I feel like I'm in a good place. Eating healthy is starting to feel normal again. And I've been exercising every day and I just added strength training this week. So I'm feeling pretty good.
I've lost 7 pounds so far. And the most exciting thing is that I actually lost a pound this week, even with Thanksgiving! I planned ahead for the day. We have the same stuff every year, so I tracked my food before I went and walked for an hour before going over to my dad's house. I ate lots of veggie appetizers but without the dip. I stuck to my plan and even had a piece of pie for dessert. I was so proud of myself for making a plan and sticking to it. Losing weight at the holidays can be so hard. So I've decided that I need to put a little extra effort into it. It worked this week. Christmas is going to be no problem!
