I went out yesterday and bought items for a turkey pot pie since I figured we'd be stuck with lots of turkey after Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure if I will have any or if I do, it will be very little.

That is definitely a first with an almost 13 pound turkey!

I went by Aldi's to get some milk and found 2 deep dish Anchor Hocking pie dishes for $5 total, so grabbed those as I plan to make apple pie with the marked down apple slices I got from Lowe's recently (was going to make turkey pot pie in them, LOL).

If I have time, I might get adventurous and make my own pie crusts as I don't think I've ever done that either. I guess I want this upcoming year to be a year of firsts with my cooking and want to take the time to make things from scratch when I can (well at least around the holidays too).
