Talking about skipping exercise

Sunday, November 25, 2012

My sparkcoach task today is to talk about skipping exercise..what the most common excuses I use to not to them.
Well lately, I can't come up with any. I'll be lying on the floor wanting to go to bed, or crying my butt off for no reason... but I still end up exercising anyway. I haven't missed a day since my planned day off.
I guess the most common excuse I use is when I get up in the morning, I'm too tired to do my workout then. It would make things more helpful if I did, but lately I haven't. I need to figure out a way to wake myself up and get going (and not sleep past my alarm)
I'm up right now and hoping to get some exercise on! I finally got under 150 (whether that's a fluke or real, I'll see but I'm happy with it right now)
Well no more delaying -- must get ready!

Nice job sneaking under the 150 bar! Now I'm imagining weight as a limbo contest...how low can you go!?

It's much easier for me to exercise now that I am retired. I can go to the gym any time I feel like it! Hang in there. Under 150 is awesome.

hooray for getting under 150! i'm going to try and catch up to you with that! in terms of excuses, i love that you said in the post that you couldn't think of any. that's a great thing! you find excuses, sure, but you never let them totally take over and win and THAT'S what's important. congrats to you on doing so well! here is a celebratory turtle: emoticon

Wow, you get up to exercise at 4:30 am?!?! I am in total awe of you! I could never ever do that! Last week, my excuse for not exercising was that I pulled one of my hamstring muscles. I think it was a good one, but I still felt horrible for not exercising! This week should be much better though because I am pretty much pain free. I could never do it in the morning, however, unless I am not working. My workout time is in the evenings, and now I have no more excuses!!!

Congats on getting under 150! That is totally awesome!

Indeed! I see so many people wishing that they would lose weight, but then they eat boxes of cereal for lunch and cinnamon rolls. Yeah, that's not going to do it. You have to change and it will suck for a while, but if losing weight was easy, everyone would be thin.
@Carilouie -- a lot of times I get dressed for the gym when I go to bed, so when I wake up I'm pretty much ready to go! Unless I sleep in late, and then I'm kinda SOL... :/ It stinks that i need to plan for the gym, take a shower, and then head to work (which is a 35min drive, without snow on the ground) so all of that is running through my head at 4:30 in the morning, and sometimes it stresses me out so I just don't do it. But I usually manage to do it later in the day, even if I don't feel like it

Way to go Emi! You've been doing so great with your exercise! You inspire me to stop letting my excuses get in the way of what I know I need to do to get the results that I want. Wishing isn't going to get it done. emoticon emoticon

I get dressed for the gym immediately after I wake up. If I'm already dressed, I usually can't think of a good reason not to go to the gym!
