food frenzy

I imagine many of us have experienced weight gain from turkey day so I am in good company. I didn't gain too much from Thanksgiving dinner it was the food frenzy I experienced afterwards. I was stuffing food into my mouth like I had been starved! Unfortunately, that is what happens to me when I deny myself food. Even though I did not have much in the house in the way of high fat or sugar food, it is amazing the damage you can do by overeating "healthy" foods.
Despite my food binge I have had a number of comments recently about looking thinner and how have I accomplished that, so I am feeling encouraged and I hope to work off the 4 pounds I've gained and keep going.

    I know how you feel with the deprivation leading to overeating thing because I do the exact same thing. Once I start down that eating path, I really go for the gold! So, yes, you're definitely in good company. Nice to hear you got those compliments though... they make all the diet struggles worthwhile! emoticon

    I so know what you're talking about- went through something similiar yesterday at a family gathering only the frenzy happened at the meal instead of after, unless you count the plate of leftover mashed spuds & butter scarfed down at home later. Made myself super sick from all the sugar & caffeine. Good thing I didn't make the raisin tarts I'd planned after all.
Feeling deprived, losing control, making poor choices - whatever sets it off, it's a downward spiral that's danged hard to pull out of. Good you had that looking thinner compliment to fall back on.

    the Holidays are hard on all of us and thankfully I only had what was sent home with me to deal with! You are so right about over eatting on healthy food you still have to watch the carbs and cal. of the food. Thats why I kind of go over board at the table on Holidays so I don't feel deprived. I made 2 pumpkin pies and one of them was gluten-free and lower calories than the other so that way I could have dessert! Only thing is I took the pie home with me and ate 2 pcs aday till it was gone. The coment that you looked thinner is a great incentive to keep at it you are doing it right! Keep up the good work!
