The Hike that used to Kick my Butt...

Saturday, November 24, 2012

Just barely over 7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 1500 ft., this used to be one of my regular hikes this past spring. And regularly it used to kick my butt.
Not so today. Yes there were some huffy puffy parts (wouldn't be a good hike without them), but overall it felt quite relaxed.

Haven't done a short one like that in months. I consider it my warm-up hike; the big one is tomorrow.

When I left the house this morning it was so foggy I couldn't see the house across the street. Always a bit tricky to drive in the fog. But as I drove up the hill a ways to the trail head I left the fog below me.

It was a gorgeous day, quite warm actually, no jacket needed.

With the way my back is it would be difficult walking seven blocks much less seven miles. You have my admiration. You remind me of a friend who said it takes her about seven miles of running just to warm up. Unbelievable. emoticon -- Lou

I love the looks of your trail. Hiking is my thing too. Love it. I hike the hills of Brown Co. IN. Typically do between 8.5 - 10 mi./day. Always enjoy it so much. Great that you can feel the progress and benefits from your hikes. It's pretty incredible! emoticon

Beautiful pictures! I'll post some of my hike tomorrow. Isn't it great when they start to become easier?

If 7 is a short hike, how long are your "normal" hikes??

WOW, you get exercise, enjoy nature and solitude.

Do you go alone or with others?

Do you see others along the trail?
