What a busy, fun three days! I did not spark often, but did manage to keep my tracking accomplished and get through the friend feed and some threads, but mostly...nothing. Yesterday when I did have time the connection was too slow here because I was downloading the "James" videos for a Beth Moore study that I'm planning to do on my own. God has placed this one in front of me many times over the last month so I knew there must be something within this study that I'm needing to hear/address. Planning to watch the first video tomorrow afternoon (hopefully).

Thanksgiving.... We brought my dad over about 9:30 in the morning and he watched the parade and part of the Purina dog show with us. Both family traditions. I turned the football game on afterwards so he and Isaac could watch that while Tim and I worked on getting dinner on the table.

Growing up my dad always had the "leg" of the turkey. We decided to tease him by adding the attached thigh so it filled his plate. It was worth the smile!

After we took dad home we began the exterior decorating as the weather was very nice. No wind, full sun and 50 degrees.

After that was finished the kids put window clings up.

Next came the photo session repeating a photo we'd done with the kids and the dogs in 2009. That photo is still in my Spark album and you can definitely see how they've all grown!

After dinner we began putting the tree together (12'). We always watch "White Christmas" while that's happening.

Today brought more decorating. First came the railing while the boys were still gone with grandpa. I forgot to take a picture of the longest part of the railing.

And then came the Christmas card sleigh. We laughed when we actually received our first card today in the mail!

Maegann tried something different on top of the piano this year and it turned out cute. We usually have a gumdrop garland and gingerbread men (candles).

Then I needed to put a new ribbon on the front door wreaths. Finally got something new for the outside of the door instead of the traditional round wreath. I like it!

The kids finally got their dad to start putting up the lights and ornaments about 2 this afternoon. We turned on "Christmas Angel" but had to stop it because dad wasn't focusing! LOL Need to get a picture of the family in the front of the tree tonight now that it's darker and you can see the lights better. So here is the 12' tree all ready for presents and baby Jesus is already resting in the manger.

Tomorrow.... looking forward to a more "normal" day. Isaac will have quizzing and Tim has to go to choir practice. He has agreed to help out the bass section for the Christmas musical on Dec. 9. Nice that it is at the same time as quizzing!

Love the photo idea with the dogs. We've kind of done that but not as consistantly.

    Hi Janet,
What a wonderful family time for you and yours. I usually get the indoor decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but since we are having to move a lot of furniture around and make some changes for me after my surgery, we didn't get anything done on decorations. (We have done some decluttering and reorganizing though.)

Good luck on the quizzing and getting back into the routine!! I'm sure glad for all of the fun you had with the kids and your father.
Gentle hugs,
Sylvia
