I've been tricking me.

I've been busier and doing more physically with that I find I'm tired. So I trick myself and tell myself instead of an hour exercise do just 10 minutes. Once I get started I can finish my hour. At night I do 20 sit ups and 10 leg lifts in bed. So I tell myself only do 5 and once started I do my normal number. Now please keep this a secret from me.

    Your blog is adorable. And so true. I never ever get on the elliptical intending to do 45 minutes. I will do 10, is what I say to myself. I mean it, til I do the 10. Then I decide to continue to 20, and so it goes. I have no idea why this works. I guess like you said we are "tricking" ourselves.

What ever works - we are all different - different things work for different people!!
Just keep moving - its so good "seeing" you go from strength to strength - and knowing that this Christmas is going to be so exciting for you - that you will be involved rather than watching!!

    hahaha! Your secret is safe with me. I do the same thing. and once I get started, it's way easier to talk myself into the rest of it.

    I will certainly keep your secret. I do the same thing and it has been suggested that instead of BULLYING ourselves into eating and exercising correctly, that TRICKERY and outsmarting ourselves is MUCH more effective. When I make it easier to eat right and exercise than NOT to, I am much more likely to do it. I keep my gym bag in the car with all my gear so I don't have the excuse that I FORGOT it. I keep HEALTHY snacks in car, purse, desk, gym bag, etc. so I am more likely to make a HEALTHY choice than stop for fast food.

We will keep our tricks to ourselves - nobody need ever know - ESPECIALLY OUR BODIES.
