I ended up binging on left overs yesterday... the Mac n cheese and the cake. Had to get it out of my system. Yes it was good, but I'm so glad its over, plus thank the Lord my family (sister, plus my husband and children) don't do.big meals for Christmas. We've been doing either a breakfast or pita pizza things in the past, so I think something along those lines or possibly even some sandwiches. We always go light.

We have even figured out the present thing for the children. While they won't get very much, the will get a few small things plus the one big thing they showed us they wanted yesterday. Yes we braved Black Friday, but we didn't buy anything. My husband works for Amazon, and we checked prices there, so there's at least $10 savings on each of the big things so that's $30savings alone... plus he has his discount, sooo praise God, it may not be a lot of stuff, but they're getting stuff the like and need. I've also decided to trade in a lot of my books so that I can get them some. I have this awesome store that gives you trade in credit, like gamestop, only for books. Sooo, yea books are waaay better than toys. I also think I may try a few thrift stores for clothes, but if um not successful there, its okay.

The most important thing I can ever give my children is love anyway, and they get a lot of that.

So, no longer am I going to worry about it, because in the end, getting presents isn't what its all about.

I'm looking forward to this new outlook, its positive, and I'm looking forward to the holidays after all.

I'm ready to get back to eating normally too! Time to start tracking again!

I like your strategy for gift giving. I don't have any kids, so the only family I have gifts for is my mom... she and I are giving each other less this year. And all of my friends are getting handmade plushies from me this year... they cost me much less in money, but a lot more in time! They're a lot more personal than me just buying something random for my friends.

The holidays are so hard...I have a really hard time with my kids not because of them but because they have friends in rich families who get tons of stuff and then my kids dont get so much. I know my daughter gets a little jealous but she is such a great kid. She never complains, I can just sorta see the disappointment when her friends are going on and on about what they are getting. But you are so right..it is not about presents. Thankfully it will all be over soon LOL!

Keep up the positive outlook!!
