Yucky Pie! Bleh!

Friday, November 23, 2012

So I did great yesterday for Thanksgiving... I made some great Paleo recipes.... Mashed cauliflour, sweet potatoes, cranberries, and of course the turkey. I even had made some coconut bars for my dessert. Oh, my hubby did tempt me with a glass of white wine, though and it was really good- I am super picky when it comes to wine so I drank it. Not sure if wine is Paleo or not, but oh well....

So tonigjt... I had done well all day and I decided to indulge on a thin slice of Apple and pumpkin pie... Like a half a slice of each to equal one slice. I thought it was a one time deal and I have been exercising and maintaining my weight.

Huge mistake. I feel so sick. Very nauseous.... Why do I do this to myself? I didnt even want it. It was sickeningly sweet and tasted processed and nasty. I just did it because it was thanksgiving and it was there and I thought this is the only time I will get the chance to eat pie.... So dumb...

This blog is just to remind myself about how horrible I feel when I eat Crap. It is so not worth it! When will I learn? The good news is my crossfit gym put out a message that they would open up tomorrow morning for an hour. Yay! I am so there...

Other than that I had a great thanksgiving. My dad and sister game out and my dad made the comment: "Helen, you are nothing but skin and bones!" That tickled me.... My sister, boys and I had a blast black Friday shopping. A once a year, fun ritual. I am on leave next week to get ready for Christmas. So excited... Just need the motivation, lol....

Congrats on your great strategy and getting thru Thanksgiving. I took my measuring cup with me for dinner and knew before hand what and how much of everything I would eat. I did indulge in very small pieces of pie as well and I am sorry to hear that yours made you feel sick. That is a blessing and a curse all in one. Hope you are feeling better and glad to hear you made it thru the shopping and managed to have fun!
You are doing great! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Congratulations on a successful holiday! It really is true that your tastes and tolerances adjust once you remove things from your diet. What once was good suddenly makes you ill and tastes horrible. It's kind of like the few times I tried to eat meat. My body just didn't put up with it very well. Fried anything also does that to me. It serves as a great reminder if someone else tries to tempt you down the road. Just remember how disgusting it made your stomach feel. Is that food really worth being sick? You go, little lady!

I am glad to hear your paleo recipes worked out for you! I tried a cauliflower pizza crust the other day and it was TERRIBLE!

Have a good weekend!
