Weird dreams

Friday, November 23, 2012

I've been having some really strange dreams lately. Here are two of the "best" ones:

BATHROOM TRAP - I have to preface this dream by admitting that I am kind of afraid of bathroom dreams because they always confuse me and I just know that one day I'm going to have a terrible experience, if you know what I mean. This time, I dreamed I was in my house and had to go to the bathroom, so I did. While I was in the bathroom, I noticed that the shower had a glass door instead of a curtain, at which point I realized it was a dream and woke up in a panic, because of my feelings about bathroom dreams. Then, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, and sitting there, I mused that it would be awful if I wasn't actually awake yet. Things suddenly didn't seem quite right, so I yelled, "Wake up!" and, HOLY CRAP, it was another dream after all. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom FOR REAL, and looked really hard at everything in the bathroom just to be sure.

ANOTHER MOTHER - This was the beginning of a much longer adventure-type dream, but by far the strangest part, and I can't stop thinking about it. I dreamed I was a baby, and that I had a different mom. She was holding me and said, "You're beautiful, and I should love you. You're perfect, and I should love you. You smell like rosemary, and I should love you. I should love you, but I can't." Then she left me, and I was alone, then I was a little older (7 or 8) and she came back. She had a baby with her, and I got upset, wondering how she couldn't love me, but she COULD love this other baby so easily. I promise I don't have abandonment issues, so what the heck does this dream mean?!?

P.S. Lance is home and back to his usual crabby self. Thanks for all the virtual hugs and positive energy.

    Those sound real real vivid.

All I know about dream interpretation is that dreams give us an opportunity to self analyze. It's kind of like imagining our own birth. We don't remember it, or how it was for us to be born, but we can explore how we feel when we have to leave safety. Know what I mean?

I'm so glad Lance is back and he's adjusted to being home and not at the scary vet's any more.

I agree, you might have been so concerned about him. Here's a thought, maybe you were worrying that you were abandoning him (us pet owners are so helpless when our beloveds get taken into the back rooms at the vets - and he was gone a long time.

Thank you for sharing. Very brave and open of you.

Hmmm. Have you ever abandoned yourself? Maybe you are your own mother in the dream? Do you like Rosemary? (It could have something to do with food issues, you are on SP, after all.) This is just my guess, but maybe you somehow abandoned yourself at one stage of your life/in one area of caring for yourself & then came back at/to another, leaving you with a "what about ME!?" feeling re: the first issue.

Dreams of being in a big several story house and someone chasing me and I'm running up stairs into dead end hallways and swinging on the banisters to get away..same house same dream most of my life...grew up in a very very loving stable home with one floor...and still in very stable loving home with hubby with one floor and still have that dream occasionally..also dream of being in a mjor war and hiding out in a big cave. strange how dreams occur..sometime think it is due to something I've seen on tv.

I have crazy dreams all the time... I have a recurring dream that I am peeing on a horse, actually. It's the weirdest thing. I have never even been on a horse. And yet any time I really have to pee while asleep, I dream that I am sitting on a horse, and peeing on him.

So glad to hear about Lance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't say that I've ever had a bathroom dream. Or if I did, at least I didn't remember it upon waking.

Lance was away? Are you sure you didn't feel abandoned, alone, even temporarily?

lol at the bathroom dream - I am completely familiar with that one - hysterical that you mad a dream within a dream! Not sure about the other dream, but like you I sometimes have bizarro dreams...

I share your fear of the bathroom dreams.. It's better now but it was terrible when I was a kid and I'm still traumatised a bit ;)
