How To Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

I read this article in Parade Magazine and thought I would share it with you.
It was written by Daphne Oz, who is Dr. Oz' daughter.
She says: "Remember that your calorie intake balances out over three days. So don't eat a ton the day before and don't eat a ton the day after, and enjoy your full Thanksgiving (or whatever Holiday) meal. I definitely have pie."
I have found that if I drink several glasses of water before a Holiday meal, I am not tempted to eat as much. If there are snacks served before the meal, I try to fill up on carrot sticks or other veggies or fruits that fill me up but don't put me over the edge calorie-wise. I like what Daphne says. If we do over-do on a Holiday, it's not the end of the world if we remember to balance it out the day before and after.
