Happy Thanksgiving-the day after! (& a little crazed blathering)

Friday, November 23, 2012

I still count it as Thanksgiving if there are still leftovers in the fridge.

I host every year, but got folks to take 'most' of the stuff home, even my sister's sweet potato casserole which was hard to let go...

I tossed Gram's pumpkin pie (shhh!) because she didn't use her glasses to read the instructions- & baked the thing at 325 instead of 375.
but I kept my own 1/2 of apple (home-made by me) & ate some this am with my fingers.

I am not ashamed!

Ok, I was a little ashamed of the # on the scale this morning, but it doesn't count (really) because day after whatever.

But was Does count is my Fitness Tracker.

Not Moving.
Because I am not moving.

I'm in such a lack of exercise rut. & It doesn't help that we have had some stress.

One of our kitties died :(((( this past week, my husband is devastated & I sneak in sob attacks- but also, did not want to ruin my daughter's 18th birthday the day after,
nor Thanksgiving for whole family 2 days after that!

Does this sound familiar to any of you?
Do you hold it together so your family is supported, eating pie with your fingers to cheer up & not exercising so you can 'take it easy' on yourself?

Oh, & did I mention I played a show 3 hours after we had put our dear cat down?

There is no emtoticon for me with my hair standing on end, I don't think.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
but these can be combined to kind of show how I feel.

Other than that, all is good.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday. xo

Oh, Allysen, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Maybe rather than exercise, you and your sweet hubbie can go for one of those long ocean walks you've mentioned in the past. The ocean is so soothing, and your hubbie understands your pain like his own, and you might just feel a little better afterward. Happy Birthday to your daughter:)

So sorry to hear about your cat. It's so very hard to let go of them, and even years later, it still bring tears to our eyes when we think of different than any other family member.

It is tough to get out of the no-exercise rut, especially when you are upset. Maybe if you think hard about how good you feel after exercise, you can sneak in just one workout. SOMEtimes the post-workout high is enough to get me off my duff and do it. Maybe it would work for you? Best wishes!
