The Day After.... Thanksgiving

Friday, November 23, 2012

Well... its officially the day after thanksgiving. I'm glad its over. I was not good... too much stress equalled a little more dessert than I'd like to admit. I did really good during the actual dinner, but the desserts got me a bit, and I still have some red velvet cake. I must admit, it is calling my name right now. I hate being stressed Plus dealing with pms, worrying about how things are going to get paid... the shocker... I have the money, but the company doesn't accept AmEx, soooo I'm stuck waiting to see if they can wait til next week when I get my new debit card. Grrrrr. Now I have to worry about Christmas, too.     Take it from this chick, consider just throwing the cake away. Sometimes it's liberating for me to take something tempting like that that is lingering and destroy it with a ton of salt or vinegar and then chuck it in the bin. For me, sugar throws my brain into a frenzy, so when I'm already stressed, it ultimately compounds the problem -no matter how great it feels in the moment that I'm eating it [AND, it always makes my "hell week" a gazillion times worse -emotionally and physically]. Aside from that, just relax and know that the past [including everything up to 5 seconds ago] is officially behind you. Celebrate what went great about this day and know that this time tomorrow, you'll be 24 hours closer to whatever goals you have set for yourself. One day at a time, chica ...yesterday is behind you, so...

Isn't a shame that a day meant to celebrate the birth of Christ has devolved into a stressful season of competitive spending? This year if someone I didn't give birth to gets a present from me, it's something I made! As for the people I did give birth to, I've been collecting stuff from online sales for months now emoticon

Red Velvet cake is delish! I get some next week for my son's birthday because it's his favorite, too emoticon

You'll be okay. Stay focused - it'll be alright.
