Pumpkin Pie Report Card

Okay, let's start with the positives and work our way down.

I started with day with a one pound loss and was thrilled. I DID do a lot of exercise. Pedalled on the exercise bike during the Macy's parade and then a longgggg walk later in the day. Did
great with portion control at main meal.

Cut the pie into small pieces and froze it, taking one small piece out for myself. Made it through the day and then toward evening...

This is always the attitude that sinks me. "Oh, I did so well and am in control of this. So, I'll have a bit more." When it comes to certain things, that just doesn't work. Sure, I could exert that pesky thing called willpower, but I didn't.

On the positive side, I didn't eat the entire pie. And it was a small one overall.

At this point, I will leave it to your imagination as to how much I ate. Let's just say I should be oink oinking today. But this is a once-a-year thing and have no temptations during Xmas season.

I give myself an A for good intentions. An F for outcome.

    Congrats on being human... but I bet that doing the bike during the parade and walk are newer traditions that you can be proud of. So you get an A+ for fitness.

    emoticon funny blog. You sound so much like me. I will do so good and then bam I derail. Anyway, congratulations on what you did accomplish. I think you should get an A overall because you did get in some activity and you did manage portion control for the most part. Plus you did not eat the WHOLE pie.     Hehe, isn't that always the kind of twisted logic that gets us - that because we're doing good, it's time to do something not so good that leads us down a slope to not doing well.

    How enjoyable your blog was. So true to life. I did good yesterday, but there are sooo many days that one bite of something sets me off. It is what it is. We move on with our healthy eating lifestyles. The only other choice is not to. And we know how that worked for us.

    Good for you!! Losing 1 lb on Thanksgiving is huge! Well done!! Pumpkin pie happens to be the lowest calorie treat of all pies, so not the worst indulgence. I assume the serving(s) were not buried under ice cream or a whipped topping, another big plus. I can't say I was so disciplined on my Thanksgiving :P

    How are you doing today? In the overall scheme of things, 1 day and 1 overindulgence (even a big one!) won't be a disaster unless you use it as an excuse to overeat again. Stay on track now and you'll do great emoticon emoticon

    I understand that mindset. And if I hadn't been nearly 6 lbs. above my maintenance weight.... I'm sure I would have indulged. But the fear, guilt, and shame of my weight gain kept me in check.

    I ate two pieces myself. Not beating myself up though as pumpkin is one of my favorites. So, I'm getting lots of exercise today to help get back on track. Blessings!
