Thanksgiving forgotten, now it's Black Friday!

Friday, November 23, 2012

It's amazing how quickly Thanksgiving, and all the positives are forgotten for a time of savagery that comes earlier and earlier. The feasts are barely getting cold and people are already stampeding to get their Black Friday stuff.

It's total insanity. I got off just as the sale started, and had to run for my life. I thought I wouldn't get out at all, it was a stampede.

And it was scary.

We've forgotten to be thankful, and remember why we're celebrating. Let's calm down,

And enjoy the holiday season

It's only a sale, and there are more important things.

I got to work after it was over. But we had two "incidents". Grown folks fighting over sheets.....and of all things throwing lettuce. Yup "welcome to walmart" on black friday.

LOL, love the funnies you posted! I refuse to go shopping on Thanksgiving day and all the stores that had deals on things I was interested in started their sales ~ 8pm on Thanksgiving, so I skipped it this year. If they ever decide to put Black FRIDAY back on Friday, I might be interested. Until then, they won't be getting my business. It's just not worth it. Thanks for posting this and thanks for the laugh! emoticon

I have NEVER gone shopping on Black Friday, and hopefully never will. I don't like the crowds, or the insane rush in the parking lots or on the road either. If I ever do go shopping on a Black Friday, it will be to places that aren't typically the ones everyone seems to flock to, so it won't be so crowded. Forget the malls on Black Friday is my philosophy. If I was better organized, I'd do my best to have all my shopping done already so I can avoid the seasonal insanity altogether.

Black Friday is my favorite day to stay home! We've got lots of lovely leftovers and there isn't a thing I need from the store. I feel truly blessed.

Your blog is so to the point. Thank you for being brave enough to post it like it is. It is true there was only one truly black Friday. Isn't it strange that it is more commonly known as "Good" Friday.

Oh, Mark, what truth in what you post! As a fellow Christian, I especially loved the one with the three crosses. May God bless you for speaking on His behalf.
