We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. DS & family came over to share their day with us and it was fabulous. So blessed & thankful to be able to spend time with all of them. For me, that's what it's all about - NOT the food. It's spending the day with our little family. We're so lucky.
About the food.... This was a most unique Thanksgiving for me from a food standpoint. There were things for me to learn & discover. Good things. The desire to eat even a little bit of the traditional fare has left me completely. I did not eat ~ mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, stuffing, apple or pumpkin pie w/whipped cream. That's kind of funny....'stuffing' ~ that's what it does to you ~ STUFFS you and adds on the pounds!! I did eat - turkey breast, a baked sweet potato & green beans. No, not the green bean casserole with mushroom soup and those crushed fried onion rings. Just green beans, lots of them. We ate around 1:00 pm and I couldn't eat another thing if I had to. I'm still full, not hungry at all. I found that after 333 days of SP it just doesn't take much anymore to fill me up. That's all good. I did eat a few cold, cooked jumbo shrimp before the meal - they were so good. Really a treat. After the meal I kept thinking...'well, this is really cool!' Being full, didn't blow it and ate a healthy meal that didn't derail the plan.
Did the big hill this morning, then went off into the woods on the trail for more cardio hiking with my buddy Jetta. Got in 8.81 miles on the day. No strength training today.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!! Thanks for stopping by if you had time on this busy day. Hope your day was wonderful & happy and that maybe you made a few discoveries of your own.
