Thanksgiving 2012

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Well, I have everything made. Just waiting to put the green beans and stuffing in the oven. One good thing about this stuffing experiment - I found a good GF bread.

Anyway, this is a different holiday this year. My mom is trying to help, but can barely move. She has bone spurs in her legs, a pinched nerve, and something else wrong with her spine. She has an appointment with two surgeons in January and will have surgery for her spine and pinched nerve. Hopefully that helps. It's hard. So, she's having trouble, my husband and stepdad are staying busy watching tv, and I'm the cook. I'm also trying to not think about an odd symptom of mine that may be good, bad, or nothing. I know, very vague, but there's a reason for that. Anyway, I won't know more until Tuesday or so. Fingers crossed.

I had two visits to the wildlife sanctuary in the last week. It was nice to get out and move again. I didn't see any of my chipmunk friends, but I made a deer happy with the peanuts I had left from earlier this Fall. My husband wanted to take my parents there, but I don't see that with my mom's legs. Looks like it will be a quiet holiday this year.

I hope you had a great dinner, as it sounds like your day was pretty good. Being with family is so important. It's great you were able to cook the meal for everyone.
