Many of the dates on food are 'sell by' dates, and the food can be good for days, weeks, even years after those dates. Anything non-perishable is good for long after those dates. The reason for the dates is because stores have to sell items within a certain length of time since receiving the goods, and putting on a date makes sure they're selling foods they received first before selling something just received. You'd be grossed out if a box or can was covered in dust, right? Think about this: they put expiration dates on water.

Keep digging through everything and seeing what you have. Keep donating anything still useful so others less fortunate can benefit - and remind yourself that when you donate you're doing good!

I love the idea of de-cluttering! I have no idea what has happened the all of my subscription reminders that tell me when people post! Guess SparkPeople did some online management and I have lost all my subscriptions again.

So I will have to go back through each of your e-mails for the past week. I thought you were quiet because you hadn't been able to get to the library! I am so sorry that you thought I had abandoned you. NEVER!

So let me catch up... and just be happy with me as I have lost 2 more pounds since Monday! And I had Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings yesterday!

So lets do a happy dance together! You dance for finding soups in a bag (thank GOD you are decluttering or you may never have found them), and me for losing a few more pounds!

I reckon soup packets are pretty safe even if they are past their use by date...
