Last Chance Workout

And in true Biggest Loser fashion, I came so close to puking before it was through! But I am getting ahead of myself.

To start the morning off, I hopped on the scale and it showed a two pound gain since yesterday. Now I KNOW I did not sleep walk into the kitchen and scarf down 7000 calories of tofu and cashew cheese in the middle of the night, so I am fairly confident this actually IS water weight, but I did write recently in my "Advice From A SP Motivator That Lapsed" blog about owning your gains. So I did.

When I put on my bright pink hoodie and set out for my morning run, I reminded myself I needed to work extra hard. Two pounds! I lifted my legs higher. I increased my foot turn over. I worked on my breathing. See me working on my breathing:

When I got my to the office I sat on the infernal yoga ball instead of my comfy office chair and bounced in place as I worked the rest of the day. I don't know how many calories bouncing burns, but it has to be more than not bouncing. Really the run was much more fun (and productive) than the working part of my day.

Then I headed to the Y for my Turbo Kick class and my last chance to work up a serious sweat before Thanksgiving. As I did the fiftieth or sixtieth transition from back kick to double jumping jack, I reminded myself: two pounds! By the time the instructor announced cool down, I was drenched, stumbling around like I'd already been into the holiday Champagne and forgetting to move my arms and legs at the same time. Then this crazy woman decides we will do planks for six minutes! Six minutes! That's when I almost puked. Twice. I wimped out and broke position for long enough to catch my breath and drink enough water to wash the taste out of my mouth, so I didn't actually hurl in Turbo Kick class tonight, but I felt very Biggest Loser-ish for coming so close.

I know, I have issues.

And here I am after class. Apparently my eyes are so tired I don't even realize I am not looking into my forward facing camera as I take this picture.

Bonus: I won a SP Exercise DVD today when I spun the wheel! I didn't even know they had real prizes for that. It will arrive in 3-4 weeks, which is coincidentally about when our basement will be finished.

YAY! So exciting to push yourself this hard! I don't think I would survive a turbo jam - I lack coordination! It sounds like you had a KILLER workout (those 2 lbs to stand a chance - water or not!) Thank you thank you thank you for this great idea - I am seriously going to consider a once a week - killer workout - I feel great tonight!
