I have been busy with school, cleaning, and trying to get well. I have been with a long cold or allergies. It seems like my sugar intake and diet soda intake is getting worse. I can now have tea from no sweeters now 2-4 teaspoons of sugar. I used to do sweet and low when I needed it sweetened. I am trying to find help with this and I am also big time addicted to candies and other unhealthy sugary food. Another thing that is happening is that I am trying to get myself to the point that I am not as anxious or down. I wish I could do a better job and it is not happening very well. Finding help is not easy for sure.

    You are the one with the power to change what you want/NEED to change. BUT you NEED to WANT to change. Look deep within you to do this. Others can't do that for you. If you find that need/WANT candy, at least tell yourself "LATER" and don't give in to it.

    Have you been to the Dr about the lingering cold or allergies? It may be that your diet is contributing to the length of your unwellness - you aren't giving your body the nutrition it needs to heal itself. You might even find when you get a handle on improving your diet, a lot of your anxieties may reduce.

    I am glad you are still blogging it shows that you are still trying to become self aware.
    But this puts me in the same camp as ELIZRN it is all up to you especially with the holiday season here.
    I've never heard of Candida Albicans that NANNER2121 is talking about
    Then again, I am a medical moron, so it may be worth reading about then asking a physician using well informed questions before trying anything !!

And I'm glad Elizabeth posted a response, because she is amazingly wise and has a fantastic combination of no-nonsense advice and compassion. Now I'm heading over to her page to read her blog.     Do you have access to a naturopath or a natural health consultant? Sounds like you may have Candida Albicans overpopulation that may be driving your addiction to sugars. And diet sodas are just as bad for you. Chemical and synthetic sugars have been linked to so may issues, including sugar addictions. Check out Mercola.com for some very good info in sugars and artificial sweeteners.
    When I feel my sugar cravings are getting ahead of me I will do a Candida cleanse and have great success with that. But it is not easy. Like any addiction you have to break the cycle in order to get it under control.

    Right Debby...sugar is also responsible for anxiety & panic issues. Remember..the mind & body connection. Onicam...only you can change this....no one else. You have to decide to practice self-discipline. As for confidence, this is not something anyone can give you. You become confident by practice....over & over....fall down....get up...fall down...get up. I hope you read my blog today...especially the last part. I was actually thinking of you when I wrote that part. It is time for you to come to terms with your truth. There is simply no other way. Of course, you have the choice to stay in your problems for as long as you like. It's all up to you....getting OUT or staying IN. I know this is blunt, but this is the truth.

    I've said this to you before...You need to write out a few rules for yourself & follow them...you need to PARENT yourself. One new rule each day...that's how I got out of my multitude of issues & you can do this if you want to. If not, if you want to stay in excuses & non-movement, then that is your choice. Only you can do this & you get to choose.

    Sugar leads to more sugar doesn't it!!! I personally was told by a naturopath that I am allergic to cane and beet sugar. The more I eat the worse my allergies. And my addiction. After the holiday weekend, I would go cold turkey off all sugar. If you want something sweetened use stevia. Just no you are not alone. I also go nuts with carbs. If I have bread, it leads to more and more. I just can't seem to control myself. haha.
