Weight Loss Surgery and Pre-op Diets

About three weeks ago I was approved by the durgeon for gastric bypass surgery after 2 years of working with the medical weight loss center and doing everything they've told me to - up to and including Dr. Rx'd weight loss medication - and losing a respectable, but modest 25 lbs.
I'm really excited (and scared!) and there has been LOADS to do to prepare for the surgery. There are vitamins to buy, and protein shake mix to find, and junk food in the house to get rid of, and then there's all the legal junk, like a power of attorney and a health proxy.
Today I started the pre-op diet, which was given to me by the nutritionist that works with the surgeon at the weight center. It's a pretty drastic reducing diet...protein shake w/a half cup fruit for breakfast, another shake OR a piece of fruit for snack, 4-6 oz. lean protein w/1 C. non-starchy veggies for lunch, another protein shake for afternoon snack (optional) and the dinner is the same as lunch. The nutritionist said that I can eat the lower fat of the Lean Cuisine type meals if it's easier and so I bought a few for lunches, which I tend to forget to eat. So far the diet hasn't been too bad, but I definitely feel hungry. I'm hoping that increased water will help with that, but I also expect that my stomach will start to shrink a little before too long and it won't feel quite so much like I'm on rations.
