Thanksgiving Blastoff!!!

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Well, it's just about here! These blogs have actually REALLY helped! Thank you so much to everyone who commented and cheered me on!

Yesterday was NOT the good eating day that I had hoped for. My girlfriend who typically doesn't eat much is taking Prednisone (which really increases appetite), so while I was visiting at her house, she fixed me warm Ciabatta bread with oil dip. I ate about two pieces... should have only eaten one. Then she offered me a slice of pumpkin bread. It was really good but I only ate one third of the slice. That was hard.
Then, in the evening, when I got to the place where I'm staying (KRISTA4REAL's house), she had leftover Indian food that was amazing, so I ate half a serving of that. And she had a gift box of chocolate mints for me. I ate the entire box last night. Not good!
My only saving grace was that I ran/hiked/walked a total of 8.2 miles yesterday.

I'm preparing to go to the trail and run/hike as much as I can... possibly 9.3 miles total. Then tomorrow morning I'll be running a 5 mile Turkey Trot race and I plan to go as fast as I can, so that will burn a lot of calories.
As far as food challenges, I'm taking Krista and her husband to Flemings for dinner since they let me stay with them during my visit. I'm sure I will indulge, but it's a fancy restaurant so it won't be obnoxious. I'm thinking about getting the crab legs. I don't think a steak is wise the night before a race.
Then tomorrow I'll have plenty of Thanksgiving food. And on Friday I'll be traveling back to Texas.

I won't be blogging again until Saturday morning. At that time I will give an official progress report weight to see how I did this week I was out of town. Like I said, anything under 150 lbs will completely thrill me. But I'd settle for anything below 152 lbs. Anything above that means I just went completely ballistic. The scale here has been consistently reading under 145 lbs daily, but I don't know how accurate that is.

Thanks again friends! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I can't wait to check in with you to see how you all did!!

You're sticking to your workouts and during this busy season to me that is the most impressive. That's the first sacrifice I usually end up making.

Sending you all best for tomorrow, happy Thanksgiving!

You've been really active and even if you've gone off track a bit in terms of food intake, you're mindful about what you have taken in and accountable for it which is AWESOME. Enjoy your dinner out with friends as well as Thanksgiving with the family. Safe travels home!

You've done so well on this trip. Staying active, blogging, being mindful of food, processing everything and making it successful!

I'm happy that blogging helped you. It helps me too! Writing is so therapeutic. Blogging and getting support from friends is so valuable.

Have a good dinner at Flemmings. They have smaller portions than other places and seafood is a good choice.

Have a great time today and tomorrow. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
