A lovely, busy day...

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

I had a nice day today. I took my dog and 3 young homeschoolers on our morning walk. My niece had two friends come along today. It was nice because they were too busy talking to complain about how far I made them walk. I am a sneaky auntie! Then my eldest niece, who is just home from Australia stopped by to take a walk with me. So, I strapped on the dog carrier, popped the dog in, and we did another couple of miles. She stayed for tea, and we discussed a few details about the trip we want to take together the Spring she graduates from college. Then after I got back from taking Cooper on his evening walk both my brother and his wife called me, begging me to babysit my youngest niece so they could go on a date night. Now, she and Cooper are sharing some popcorn while I muck about on the computer. Overall, it was a much better day than yesterday.

For mileage today I walked 11 miles. Cooper walked 8.6 miles of that and got carried for 2.4 miles. I think I will start putting him in the carrier more often for a middle of the day walk. He won't take 3 long walks a day, but he will do 2, so if I carry him I can get in 3 walks without having to put him in his crate. I had planned on doing some ST today, but with all the visiting and walking that kind of fell by the wayside. I can do some tomorrow after our morning walk though.

As far as I know we are doing the family taco night tomorrow, I just don't know what time yet. I think we are still doing Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and the trimmings on Thursday. I was going to stop at the grocery store today to grab a couple things I forgot to get yesterday, but decided to avoid it until after the holiday. It was a little crazy yesterday, and I don't imagine it will get less crazy the closer we get to Thanksgiving.

That is a bunch of walking and miles. How many steps do you think you average in a day? Have a great Thanksgiving!

Carrying Cooper has to count for some ST! Congrats on a great day.

We are celebrating tomorrow instead of Thursday so we can get my mother down to my aunt's home to help her clean up and get things ready to move. My mother is a saint, just let me tell you that one truth today!

Anyway, so we do our thing tomorrow so I may go in and make a caek right now so it's out of the way as I will not have use of the oven tomorrow! Glad I thought of that now!

Okay - off to try an experimental cake recipe!
