I have spent the last month being very confused. Several of my friends went on Weight Watchers, so I pulled out my old books and counted points with them. Problem, I wasn't eating enough protein with my meals which as a diabetic I need to balance my carbs. I was eating too many carbs which as a diabetic I find I need to watch and stay low with them.
So I pick a style that includes more protein and less carbs. I am back being a true Sparker - tracking my food and working on my goals of low carbs and eating enough to meet my calorie intake needs.
I have to do what works for me, just as you have to do what works for you. We are different and our style of eating will be different as well.
I am still learning how to balance my food intake with the insulin. At least, my doctor put me on so many units for each meal and so many units at night. This way I don't have to do calculations for each meal.
I have been maintaining so I feel good. I want to maintain over the holidays and then try to lose the last 10 pounds. Most important right now is my health.
