T minus 2 (and an official 4)

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Yesterday went pretty well. I started the day off with my sugar-binge hangover but overcame it with a 6.2 mile trail run. I weighed after the run and was 141; though it's a foreign scale and I don't know how accurate it is, it at least showed I overcame the binge.
I indulged later in the day with 2 glasses of wine, a fish n chips dinner (very, very greasy!), and another slice of apple pie with a bit of vanilla ice cream. I also had another serving of peanut M&Ms.

I'm not anticipating too many food challenges today. I started today off with another run/hike in the trail (6.2 miles total, though I only ran half). I was 144 lbs after the run so the grease hit me harder than the sugar did the day before. Today I'll be spending the day with a girlfriend who doesn't eat a whole lot so I don't believe I'll have too many struggles the rest of the day. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have rid myself of the grease hangover. I took digestive enzymes to help me digest it cause I'm not accustomed to eating so heavy!

Highlights: American Eagle is having a sale so I went jeans shopping and I'm officially a size 4! I bought two pairs of jeans.

Lowlights: I'm still really depressed over the family situation. On Thanksgiving day I'll be seeing family members who I haven't spoken with or seen in years. There's a lot of discord in the family so I'm trying to prepare, emotionally and psychologically, for whatever happens on that day. Not looking forward to it:-(

Fantastic job on staying active and accountable during your family visit. The jeans are positively adorable and getting into a size 4 is awesome. Nice job! Sorry to hear about the stress in your family - it sounds a lot like my own. Families are so strange, I swear there is no such thing as a 'normal' family - we all have our own issues to battle. I hope it goes well for you!

emoticon Great job overcoming the sugar...sugar hits me harder than grease, I think. And it makes me crave it. So I try to avoid sugar...

emoticon Great job on your running, hiking, walking. Great forms of exercise.

emoticon I understand about family not talking. I have a lot of division in my family right now. Praying for a miracle for you and for comfort for your during your holiday gathering.

Keep a smile on your face when you go to the family gathering and circulate a lot. Don't stay in one place too long after you say your hello's. Find someone you can chat with and stick with them.
