Never Thankful Enough

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Thanksgiving should not ever be a one day of the year occurrence.
Don't forget to say thank you for the little things...
When your toddler brings you something with a sweet smile and helps you in his little way - say thank you...
When your father fixes your car, again, for you, on a cold dark night when you get stuck at college - say thank you...
When your mom brings you a little surprise and leaves it for you - say thank you...
When your hubby or wife sends you a sweet little text full of tenderness, or sends just a quick "miss you" - say thank you...
When your teenager remembers to ... (fill in the blank) ... without asking - say thank you...

There may be a day these people are not in your life, or they grow up and move away and you won't be able to face to face, but you can look up and smile and say Thank You. I always give thanks to God for each of you, children, parents, grandparents, friends.
Thanksgiving happens everyday, when you remember to say thank you.

Thank you for being my friend.

WE MUST ALL TRY TO BE THANKFUL EVERY DAY.
IT IS NOT SO EASY FOR SOME OTHERS WHO HAVE TOO LITTLE TO BE THANKFUL FOR.
WE CAN SHOW OUR GRATITUDE IN A SMILE, A HUG OR A KISS IF YOU CAN AND YOU WILL FEEL THE EMOTION OF THANKFULNESS IN YOU HEART, BODY AND SOUL.
I KNOW, BECAUSE I FEEL IT OFTEN AND IT KEEPS ME HAPPY.
OFTEN IN THE DIFFICULT TIMES WE GO THROUGH, ANOTHER'S SMILE OR ANOTHER'S KIND WORD OR HUG WILL HELP SO MUCH TO MAKE IT BETTER.

THANKS FOR BEING MY SPARK FRIEND, PAT IN MAINE.

Yes, I can sure be thankful for what I have. When I saw this elderly gentleman chopping some ice off at the crosswalk everyone uses to get to the mall, I thanked him for doing that and said I really appreciated it. I was the only one of the passerby to say so. But knowing what could happen when you slip and fall on ice, I was very thankful someone had the courtesy to do something about it.
I am also very thankful for the Mother I was given. She is always thinking of me and will get what ever I need at the drop of a hat. As today, when she delivered some groceries I needed.
I am also very thankful for this wonderful website and all the awesome people I have met in my journey!
    Thanks for being my friend!

How true! I was thinking last Thanksgiving my dad was still with us and he offered to buy dinner for us so I wouldn't have to cook and Yes, I did say thank you. This is going to be especially hard this year - he passed away Dec 26.

You are right. I have lost my mother and father...along with other family members. How I would like to spend some time with them, again, over the holidays.

So true. I lost my mother when I was 18 and now whenever I hear someone complain about their Mother (like she keeps telling me what to do OR she won't let me live my life, etc), I tell them to enjoy it while they can because they only get 1 Mother. It normally shuts them up and makes them think a bit more about it. So, Thank you for being such a great friend here on Sparkpeople and for reminding me to always find something to be thankful for because there is always something. Keep up the awesome work!
