I probably picked the absolute worst time to start again - I mean the week of Thanksgiving... really, Shay? Oh well, I like a challenge!
Yesterday evening I did my first run since the time changed. I was out of town for a week and worked out in a hotel gym, and the other days I did short power workouts inside. Anyway, so yesterday my goal was to just run one lap around my neighborhood and then walk one lap (each lap is roughly 1/3 mile) and do a total of four laps. Because I'd slacked on running, I wanted to give myself permission to take is slow and ease back into it. And do you know what I did? I walked one lap as a warm up then I ran all four other laps. I kept hearing the voice in my headphone say I'd gone another 1/2 mile and just decided to keep going. It felt AMAZING. I pushed myself and just really made myself proud.
Yay for small steps!
