Do I really have an evening eating problem?

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

A SP article says you may have a problem with evening eating if:

1.More than one-third of your meals & snacks are eaten after 5:00 pm.
2.More than one-third of your total calories are consumed after 5:00 pm
3.Evening eating constantly occurs with another activity.

I am sure this fits me. But just to make it real for myself, I will keep track of my evening eating on paper.

I wonder what the tracking will prove to me! Chris

Tracking does help, but I really like having dinner as my main meal and I'm ok with that. Thinking about calorie distribution during the day has made me stop snacking *after* dinner, which is probably good.

I think the importance of this is about balance. If we spread our eating appropriately across the day we are more likely to be fueled and satisfied across the day.

I'm with you. I don't want to be "night heavy" on my calorie distribution.

According to what I've read on SP, calories consumed in the evening are metabolized the same way those eaten during the day are. Don't obsess about this.

Very interesting! I think I've been skimping on my meals/calories a bit too much during the day which leads to overeating in the evening.... I too, am going to keep a closer eye on this for a few days!

Have a great day!
