I'll take a "compliment" about my hips any old way I can get it. Even if it is from my chiropractor looking at my X-rays today.
About 2 months ago I started experiencing lower back pain. Since I'm in better shape than I've been in years (thanks SP
) I figured it was muscle soreness from trying a new exercise DVD.
Well, it has progressively gotten worse. Saturday I spent 90% of the day on the couch or in bed - the first time in months I haven't taken a minimum of 10,000 steps per day or exercised.
So, I saw a chiropractor today. After filling out a ton of paperwork, answering all related questions and getting a set of X-rays I found out I have lower back pain. Yep, I agreed with the good doc!
But he said, and I quote, "Your hips look good!" So a couple of thingys are not lined up right, so after an adjustment and a round with a Tens unit, I was able to zoom out of there. (Zoom may be an exaggeration)!
Oh yeah, not without a sheet of instructions for some back exercises, some instructions about a heating pad and a No-No on a few exercises.
So I can still do most of my workouts, EXCEPT no planks, no sit-ups, no superman poses and did I say no planks. (Boo Hoo
So I did get a tennis match in this afternoon, but didn't play quite an hour.
I did come home and use a heating pad that the good doc recommended.
I have a "date" to see him again next Monday. So either my hips looked really good (ACK!) or he believes he can help me some more.
Since I feel better after I get up and get moving around, I plan to keep up an active schedule.
Hopefully my Thanksgiving will be a pain free, active one!
