Don't Lose Your Fizz

Monday, November 19, 2012

I don't really like the 2 liter bottles of soda, because usually they go flat before the soda is gone. Blucky! Flat soda is not worth drinking. (Now, I drink diet and only once a day at the most.) Today, I uttered a prayer out loud. "LORD, DON'T LET ME LOSE MY FIZZ."

The soon approaching Thanksgiving and all the days heading toward Christmas and New Years, kind of freaks me out. Why? Because I want to and need to stay on the healthy course that I have been enjoying since the summer. I looked over my Spark calendar for November and I noticed that 6 days I ate over my calorie range. And since I injured my back, I've been a bit sluggish in the exercise department. I'm kind of afraid about the holiday season. I LOVE being TWENTY POUNDS LIGHTER and I'm LONGING to LOSE MORE and STAY ON COURSE.

I was reading inspirational quotes on Spark last night and writing down my favorites. Here are some of them:
"If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up."
"Go the extra mile. It's never crowded."
"I'm not losing weight. I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again."
"Do not let what you cannot do, interfere with what you can do."
"At any given moment you have the power to say, 'THIS IS NOT HOW THE STORY IS GOING TO END.'
"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going."

I NEED YOU SPARK FAMILY. If you have any wisdom or insight or stuff that you are doing right now to "Keep your Fizz" during the holiday season, I would be GRATEFUL TO HEAR FROM YOU.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to my incredible, beautiful, persevering Sparkers!

Track, TRack TRACK your food. Resolve to let nothing pass over your lips that doesn't get entered into the programs (except vitamins and close to zero type stuff). If you go over calories and don't exercise you WILL gain weight.

Do not give in to your cravings and habits. Your resolve to loose weight needs to be greater than your old habits. . . and by the way . . . I have discovered that MY cravings and habits did NOT diminish over time. When you walk into a Thanksgiving dinner spread, keep your habits in check. Keep your healthy habits that have given you success in the past.

    Wishing you the best success

Dear Joette, THANKS! That's a great idea! I wanted to lose 3 pounds by the end of this month, but it did not happen. I am also up 1 pound. SOOOO, I will put a 4 on my right hand to remind me of the 4 pounds I want to see gone by Christmas! AWESOME!

One of my favorite tricks for the holiday is to use an ink pen and put a 5 on my grabbing hand. The 5 represented the 5 lbs I wanted to lose between thanksgiving and CHRISTmas. I am left handed, so I put it on the back of my left hand. Every time I grabbed for something to eat, it was a visual reminder. Only one person questioned it. It was my mother in law. When I told her what I was doing she laughed but left me alone. Walked away thinking it was funny, but a good idea.
