Well, I didn't love the the last gym I joined. Not at all. It wasn't bad. I just didn't love it. And when it comes to exercise, if I don't love it, I don't do it.
So I joined kickboxing. It's the best thing I've ever done in terms of fitness! It is the hardest workout I've ever done. It's different every time I go. And it is just so much fun.
I'm seeing results faster than ever, too. Maybe the scale hasn't moved much, but I feel better every morning when I climb out of bed.
Also, the workout is difficult enough to be my motivation for eating healthy. I work so hard at the gym, why should I be hindering my results by eating junk? So there's lots of greek yogurt. Lots of fruit. And lots whole grains and eggs. And foods with real ingredients, not chemicals.
And I'm glad that the timing is what it is. Thanksgiving is Thursday. There will be entirely too much Christmas cookie baking this year. And the holidays are only a month away. I gained weight this time last year. Yes, I will enjoy the foods of the holidays, but I wont enjoy them more frequently or in larger quantities than I should. It helps to have entirely too much motivation just when what could be a major obstacle is approaching.
I have a few things coming up sometime in 2013 that I really want to be in the best shape I can possibly be in for. Lots of pictures. I was rather unhappy with how my arms looked in the last picture taken of me in a dress. I refuse to feel that way next time.
So yay for entirely too much motivation. It's wonderful!
