Trying Sensa

Monday, November 19, 2012

The holidays are coming and I already had my first party two days ago. I got on the scale this morning and I was up 3 pounds. GRRR!

I watched Dr Oz the other day when he reviewed Sensa. There were mixed reviews about its effectiveness, but the nutritionist didn't feel that there were any harmful ingredients, so when the scale jumped up so fast this week and I've been stuck at a plateau for 6 month, I decided to try it.

I don't know what else to do. I play tennis 4 to 5 times a week, line dance 1 or 2 times a week and walk for 45 to 60 minutes every night with my neighbor. I'm careful about what I eat, but am finding that the cravings for sweets has been creeping back up as the days get shorter. I'm going to give it a 2 month try and pray that it gets that scale moving in the right direction.

I'll keep you updated on progress in this blog. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I stopped the Sensa and returned it to GNC after 2 and a half weeks. I started to retain fluid, gained weight and had a significant increase in my blood pressure during the third week. I ended up in the ER. They ruled out a heart attack or stroke and found my blood pressure rapidly returning to normal as I got rid of a lot of fluid over an hour of time.

I stopped the Sensa right away, but it took me a week to get my blood pressure to stabilize again back down to my normal level of about 115/65.

So much for that experiment. Thank goodness I didn't have anything serious.

Hi everybody. I started Sensa at lunchtime one week ago, and today I am 3.4 pounds down from last week. I feel good and continue eating healthy and delicious meals staying between 1400 and 1500 calories a day. I do get in at least 60 minutes a day in exercise from tennis, walking and line dancing. I feel good and have very few cravings which I resolve with a small portion of the craving food with a sprinkle of Sensa and I'm satisfied.

Really nice to see you back here, Judy. This is the hardest time of the year for most of us to stick to the program because of all the extra entertaining, but it sounds to me as if you are doing really well with your exercise and keeping your calories under control. Hang in there - you're doing great!

Thanks for the comment, Joan. I try to keep my calories at about 1600. If I go over that, I gain weight. I also am very careful about drinking enough water. I think a lot of the 3 pounds I gained this week was from the increase in starchy carbs, added sugar and salt found in most of the "Pot Luck" foods brought to the party.

I lost 1.5 pounds yesterday with starting Sensa and getting back to my controlled food intake. I'm sure most of that was water I retained from the party. I do seem to not be having as hard a time with craving sweets like I did after splurging at the party. It is so easy to trigger cravings when you get a taste for the sweets and starches again.

This is day two so we'll see how it goes. I just had a good protein, veggie, and ezeikel bread breakfast and now I'm off to tennis.

    Judy,
after reading all the activity your doing I have to ask...do you think your eating enough? I have heard of so many people who are very active and then they hit a plateau like you have, and when they have upped their food then the pounds began to come off again. Good luck with the Sensa.
