Setting the bar high

Monday, November 19, 2012

The scale was not kind to me today. There are a slew of reasons that might be the case, not the least of which being I ran 8 miles yesterday & I'm fully aware of each & every reason. That doesn't change the fact that today's number did not make me happy.

Despite the fact that there will be a LOT of baking & yes, still some stress over Simba & a lot of running around, too, I'm going to set my bar high: I'd like to lose 2 lbs by my next WI. That's 1 1/2 weeks away. I know that theoretically it's totally doable; I also know that's still a difficult number for me to achieve.

I figure that by setting the bar high, even if I fail I still win.

So tbe dark chocolate edamame I've been nibbling on? That went downstairs. I can have it, but I need to measure it & record it.

Already started today with a 10 min abs routine. Hope to add 10 minutes of legs & arms by the end of the day. The dogs still need their walk; it was too cold before my meeting this morning.

And I have to be particularly mindful of carb consumption & portion sizes in general since I'm tapering.

Just because you had a setback, just because it's a holiday week in tbe US -- no excuses. Now more than ever it's time to stick to our healthy habits!

You with me? What habits are you sticking with?

I'm really grateful to have your thoughts to dip into....LOL

I am needing to cut back as my output is limited to non running at the moment and weighing and measuring. Thanksgiving is going to be difficult to say the least but I am preparing in part by giving myself permission to sample with discernment....really kick in my judgement...don't waste my tstes on anything I don't really want or particularly care for. And, all of the desserts I am taking to my nephew's will stay with the teenage boys who can burn it off! I am armed with disposable pie tins and sheet pans.

Boo...scale!! Yes, 8 miles could have something to do with it. Fingers crossed it will be cooperative next time.
Measure, record and walk downstairs to get it...that should help.
