Ah! I about forgot to blog this week until Monday when I realized I forgot.
This week I changed up my nutrition alittle. I added a protein drink in the morning and took out my activia. I had a little trouble staying in the calorie guidelines and it wasn't good on my body. Threw it all out of whack! This week I decided to put the activia back in my breakfast and add the protein drink in after a workout. I might drop the protein drink except on days where I lack protein if I keep getting over my calorie range or can't loose any more weight. I haven't gained weight but I haven't lost any either. Let's hope I can stay like that through the holidays.
Exercise this week....I went to the gym on Monday and had a bad run on the treadmill. I felt worn out and very tired so I cut it to 1.5 miles and moved on to an elliptical, followed up by weight training. No exercise Tuesday, but wednesday I went to the gym and ran a good 5k on the treadmill with weight training. No exercise on Thursday or Friday due to family plans (award ceremonies for my daughter). Saturday I ran a bad 5k outside. I was back to feeling worn out again. I think it has to do with the headache I have had all week.
This week I am sticking to a light known menu for nutrition. On Wednesday I will eat a little more carbs for the race on Thursday. My Thanksgiving dinner will be all portion controlled. My mother is diabetic so everything is cooked lowfat and healthy. The rest of the weekend is going to be wraps and light eating.
I am going to do zumba on Monday with a faster 1.5 mile run unless I think after zumba I can run 3 miles with some weight training. Tuesday I am going to run outside for 5k with some weight training. Nothing on Wednesday because I like to rest the day before the race. Thursday is my 5k turkey trot. I might go to the gym on Friday and just do a fast 1.5 mile or maybe the elliptical and stair stepper with some weight training. Running outside on Saturday and Sunday.
I haven't tried the zumba classes I have been wanting to try. I have been bogged down at work or my daughter has had something at school. Hopefully this week will be different and I can fit it in. My last 5k was in 36:03 and I am just wanting to break that record this time. Eventually, I am striving for 30 minutes or less, but I know it will be a while for that. I am really unsure how to increase speed other than keep running until it gets so easy that you are running it faster. I am going to throw in a 1.5 mile on my cross train days and run it at a faster speed and start increasing speed every couple weeks. I am also going to start increasing my 5k distance alittle each week too, maybe that will speed me up.
