So the Back to Basics challenge just ended today and I feel as if I have done great. I have now lost 21.2 pounds in the last 8 weeks. Whenever I started, I didn't expect to get anywhere near that. I'm glad that I did. I have felt like I have much more energy and more self esteem. I'm just wanting to keep up the momentum that I have currently and keep it going.
Now my new goal is to be down to 244 by the end of the year. I really feel as if I can do it, so long as I stick with what has been working here lately. I have been training for my first Half-Marathon. Right now that is my current motivation to continue running. Granted I'm really enjoying doing it, but it never hurts to have that little extra motivation like a scheduled race.
I'm also starting up a weight lifting program with one of my best friends. I haven't lifted weights on a regular basis since high school, but I did always enjoy it. Now I just want to get into the groove of doing that mixed in with my half marathon training and my weekly bit of mountain biking with my little brother.
Hopefully I'm able to maintain this momentum and not burn myself out. Burning myself out is my only real fear. I'm just wanting to get to the point to where I'm no longer considered obese and get to merely overweight. Only 46.8 more pounds to go.
