Thanksgiving is almost here...

Monday, November 19, 2012

This year I made a promise to myself to have the BEST Thanksgiving ever.

This year, I decided to stay home & have a peaceful Thanksgiving. My grandma could come to our house but she holds this strange belief that kids (and their kids) should go to their parent's house for the holidays. Here at home, I will be at peace. I will remember everything I am thankful for. I can talk to my family and watch movies and just allow myself to relax. Something that I am learning how to do and something that I love learning how to do.

If I choose not to stay home, I may be giving up that peace of mind so I decided that I am going to stay home, be thankful and just relax. It sounds simple but there is beauty is simplicity. My family is still going to have a Thanksgiving dinner right here. I am not going to allow myself to think of past holidays. Those are done and over with. The goal is to live in the present and there is so much to be Thankful for. Thanksgiving is almost here & I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to writing my next Thanksgiving related blogs.

I hope you will also choose to leave the past behind and live in the present this Thanksgiving. :)

The meaning is worth so much more than the food and the stress. Good for you making the choice to take care of your needs first.

Bluestar5 you are on a streak of really having it all together. I am impressed at your maturity and insight into yourself. You seemed to have really turned some sort of corner and outlook is just so positive and nurturing. I know you are helping others so much with wonderfully helpful advice. I am glad you're a Pepper because I learn a lot from you. Such a good idea to stay in the present and just appreciate what is here and now. Maybe that's why we like Betty - she is boop boopy do and definitely is in the now! emoticon
