A Whole New Day....

Monday, November 19, 2012

I woke up this morning with a wonderful outlook on the day! It's going to be great. I am planning a nice walk after lunch to warm my muscles back up, then I am planning on a nice workout this evening.

My middle daughter keeps asking me if she can workout with me. I'm afraid to let her in a way, just because I do the bootcamps and Taebo. But, maybe we can work it so she's doing an easier version... if anyone has any ideas how to incorporate her in my workouts without her straining herself, please let me know. She's only 8, so I want to keep her safe, well I always want her safe, but you know what I mean.

So today is a New day, my cheat days are in the past, which is great and I'm motivated to keep it going in the right direction. I'm even beginning to look forward to Thursday... Sure there are going to be some unhealthy choices, but my sis and I are making healthier substitutions to make things a bit healthier, so its going to be great. My "brother's" house... well luckily its after dinner, so I know I don't have to eat as much. (long story about the brother thing...)
But, I'm making it a great week, and I'm taking EarthSmiles' advice about adding in a killer extra exercise all week, plus I'm going to find some time Thursday for at least a good 10min.

LIFE IS WONDERFUL! LET'S TRY TO LIVE EACH DAY TO THE FULLEST!

Maybe instead of working out with her, exactly, you put in the dvd and then sort of "coach" her through some of the moves. It's not a side-by-side workout and may not be much of a workout for you at all but that's okay! It's spending time with her, helping her learn a healthy habit, and you can still get your workout in at a different time (like 15 minutes later when she's beat!) It's a good thing! Do we want them to have to learn all these healthy habits at our age like we're doing or do we want to teach them now! emoticon

I usually dance with my niece as a way of working out. She'll also watch me do wii fit and try to do some of the moves and she loves it. So, a lot of depends on what sort of workout plan you're on. Like someone else said, walking seems like the best bet. If you want, you can make up your own dance routine or zumba! You can go on youtube and find some zumba routines that your 8 year old can do!

emoticon emoticon and YOU WILL!! The first thing that I thought about with exercising with your daughter and this is so selfish.....is that you'd have to stop actually and teach her and then your heart pumping minutes are going out the window! Walking sounds like a better time with her to me. Just my own selfish self talking! Take it or leave it. Ya! I plan on tackling Thansgiving Day too with a vengeance! Moderation I will do and at least 10 min. of fast walking I will do too! Each day that I'm gone on this little Thanksgiving get-away!! We'll be going to our daughter and son-in-law's in WY, about 700 miles away! emoticon emoticon

I love that each morning is a new start! Maybe you could do some yoga with your daughter. Great workout. Much safer.
