Happy Sunday my little sparky pets!
I think this week's homework has to be GRAITUDE, dont you?
I am a pretty grateful person, I count my blessings often but this time of year, it is easier to do that or at least it should be.
We are one of those families who makes everyone say what they are thankful for as we eat dinner together on Thanksgiving. My mom started that tradition many years ago and I am proud to be following in her footsteps on that one as well as being the home where everyone comes. It makes me happy to carry that on. I will be hosting 22 people on thursday. Im looking forward to it. I decided what I am going to say and it is inspired by this.......
I was sitting up early the other morning when Kady's boyfriend, Artie, started talking to me (for those who dont know, my daughter is 22 and her and her boyfriend have been together since they were 14 and have been through alot together, including crohn's disease and a major life altering surgery becuase of it.)
We were talking about Kady getting a secured credit card to build her credit and I advised him to get one too. He told me he got one. At a jewelry store. I said, "really? what are you buying?"
and he shyly said, "a ring".
I started laughing and crying. He is going to propose to her in december at our annual christmas party. They are in a band together and they are doing the song, "stand by your man" (with a rockabilly theme). He is going to ask her in front of everyone, friends and family, right before that song.
I am very excited that they are both doing well and moving forward in their careers and their life together. It is something I am looking forward to and something that makes her dad and I very proud and happy. Im sure it will be a year or two before they get married, but they are heading in the right direction.
I am going to talk thursday about my family and how the women dominate (shocking, I know!) and about our partners who have stood by us, not just the wives, but the whole family. I am going to talk about LOVE and APPRECIATION for those in our lives, sitting at the table, far away and some I have never even met. You will be included in my heart, not just Thursday, but every day.
Spark has changed my life. YOU have changed my life. I have changed my life. And I am grateful.
What are you grateful for?
