My friend came out to clip Leo today as planned. I brought her a double double from Timmies. Got one for the barn owner's son too. He hadn't had coffee yet and it was near 11 am. He went back to his work with the log splitter quite happy.
Left DD in the house with one of the farm dogs & her new puppies. They're only a week old.
So Leo stood like a statue for the trace clip. You could see it tickled him, on his face, to feel the clippers on his belly but he didn't shift a hoof. My friend felt very safe.
I tried to take a pic but the pic was not very good with the phone camera, even though it had a flash. So here's a pic of Leo sporting his new Bucus loin cloth yesterday. So he still has all his fuzz.
He was quite good yesterday. Even with riding outside in the Parelli hackamore. He listened when I'd ask him to slow down. But cantering was hard, sweaty work when you are over weight. Leo was a very good boy.
So now with the trace clip, he's sporty his rain sheet to give him some more protection. The barn is cool too so even though he's stalled at night, he can be comfortable still in the rain sheet.
