Church Dinner (also sad news)

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Today we had our Thanksgiving dinner at church. Potluck with mostly potatoes, gravy, turkey and ham. And desserts, of course. I made scalloped potatoes for my main dish I provided, which went amazingly well. I also took two sugar free things because some of us should not be eating those sugar-laden things. I had a crustless pumpkin cheesecake and some cranberry relish. It was the only cranberry, so that went pretty well. A couple of us liked my cheesecake. I still ended up eating too much, but I did better than other years. And I stuck with a little of my cheesecake for dessert and stayed away from those brownies that looked sooooo good.

On a sad end, I found out that my dog has advanced cancer. He is on some anti-inflammatory meds and I have gotten him some liver supplement to hopefully get some of the fluid retention gone, but I am afraid that he doesn't have much time. I almost lost him 6 years ago, but the Lord allowed me to keep him then. I am not really ready to lose him now. I am not sure what I will do without my last little guy. It will be so lonely here all alone.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know what it is like to loose a special friend. There is nothing like the love we receive from our fur-babies. I keep more than one, various ages, since I just can not be without them. I hope you will have the strength to do what you have to when the time comes so your baby doesn't suffer. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

emoticon I'm sorry about your dog. I lost an almost 18 year old cat to cancer about 12 years ago; I still cry when I think of her last day. I will send up prayers for you.

Fancyqtr I know what you are going through as I have been there a few times. It is such a sad time in our life because they gave us so much happiness.

I agree hopefully you will open your heart again to love another little fur annimal.

We just lost our 19 year old cat. My little Yorkie (Bad Leroy Brown) is 7 years old and I absolutely dread the thought of facing what you are now going through.

I know that God can fill the empty spot that will be left once your little guy is gone. Hopefully the time will come soon when you can open your heart to another fur-kid.

The unconditional love that they give is such a constant reminder of God's love for us and how He yearns to have us with Him.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
