Getting back to normal. Maybe?

Well, this week has been filled with highs and lows which has left me sort of blah and not doing much of anything. Today is a bit more on track. I didn't get going this morning like I wanted (slept in again - I hope I'm not getting sick). Didn't get up and moving until after 9. I was up until midnight yesterday so maybe that's the problem. Hubby is such a night owl and I feel into that trap. So I'm going to run with that.

I did manage a good 3 mile run right after hubby left for work. Three miles in 31 minutes. That really is my quickest yet. However, my times are all over the board. Today was terrific, Wednesday was my worst at 43 minutes. Not having a lot of consistency on my runs. It's ok though, at least I'm doing them.

I'm in calorie for the first time in 3 days - so that should be a bonus. Now just as long as I don't start mindlessly eating tonight in front of the TV I'll be fine. I've got just enough left for my bedtime soy. So I need to be done for the day.

I've been trying to catch up on house work all day (exercise and tracking are not the only things I haven't been doing emoticon ). That means the run was my only real exercise. And dishes and laundry don't use too many steps. Maybe I'll take a walk with Gypsy, it will be slow and calm - kind of more like I'm feeling than more Tazzy time.

Hubby is off holiday shopping, so I'm left to my own devices tonight. Wow, an I rambling. Sorry.

    Looks like the week is starting off well. Mindless snacking can be my downfall to and it's been a hard habit to break that snacking in front of the tv but you can do it! Enjoy your evening.

    I think all of us are going to have a more difficult time staying on track during he holiday season. We can't always make our own choices. Do the best that you can, but enjoy yourself.
    As for the housework, I have learned that it will still be there. I keep hoping that the "house fairy" will step in, but she never does.
    Take care of yourself, and enjoy your family during the holidays.

    Sounds like you're handling a pretty busy schedule just fine! My boyfriend tends to want to stay up later than I do as well and it is SO HARD to just go to bed and let him come to bed later. Sleep is important though, do what you've gotta do!

    You'll get back on track soon, just keep plugging away and before you know it things will be working again! Have a great week! emoticon

    It sounds like you have been kind of scattered by the roller coaster you had this week. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and things will get back to "normal". (Whatever normal may be.)

    Looks like you are aware of what is going on. You had tons of things that were stressing you. Sounds like the sleep is a result of stress and staying up late. And day one of getting back on track can only make you feel better. Hang in there you will be back on track in no time.

    wow sunday must have been a cleaning day! I cleaned also, moved furniture, to vacuum and defurred my bedroom from the cat!

    I think it's something about this time of year where you just kind of want to hunker down and hibernate because I'm feeling the same way. emoticon I'm trying to get in a little bit of ST here and there on the days that I don't do lengthy exercising.

    Nah, not rambling at all. And cleaning, by the way, has been shown to reduce stress.

    Do you notice now that your "off" weeks are so much healthier than your "off" weeks a year ago? Six months ago? You are still working out, because that's a habit now. And you are aware of what you are eating when not tracking.

    And I know, knowing that you are overeating doesn't stop the fact that you are doing it, but it is a good thing. It means not mindless. This is something I'm trying to convince myself of right now, so if you believe it too, then it has to be true!

    I'm finding myself doing more cross stitch than exercise lately too because of the rain storms coming in, so I made a plan for tomorrow to fit it in in small increments throughout the day. I think the onset of winter turns us all into hibernating bears if we let it!

    Actually, housework burns a lot of calories, especially since you do it for a much longer time. And, also because you do it periodically through the day, and each time you do something you are giving your metabolism a little boost.
