Sunday

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Well, my question didn't get mentioned on Thanksgiving Live, but I really didn't expect it would. They no doubt got hundreds of thousands. But it was a fun show. I actually got a bit of a lump in my throat, watching all of them hang out enjoying the coooking and each others' dishes. It's something I would love to be in on.

My ex told me yesterday that he's hurt his foot and can't drive, so he isn't bringing our son for Thanksgiving. I can't climb his front stairs with my knees, so I'm going to be spending Thanksgiving on my own. I guess I'll be okay -- I have some of what I was going to cook for the dinner (like the turkey and the makings for the stuffing). I'm just not going to be doing the extras I'd planned on, like homemade rolls. I'll also have the yarn for my new afghan, so at least I'll have an enjoyable project to work on.

At least I'm only working two days this week. Then I'll be off Wednesday through Sunday.

I missed the special, due to work, but maybe I can catch it in reruns later (if they do that). I hope you have a lovely, blessed Thanksgiving, even if it will be by yourself. Enjoy those days off!

I have it recorded, and will probably watch it on Wednesday when I'm cooking. My kitchen is open to the living room so I can watch and cook!

What sad news about Thanksgiving. Is there anyone you can call that could drive him and your son over? emoticon

I'm sorry that you will be spending Thanksgiving by yourself. I wish their was something that could be done so you don't have to.

I watched the show, it was great! Lots of good drinks they made.

sorry about your son and you not getting to hang out on Thanksgiving, but it sounds like you've got a plan to keep you busy and with the basics of a good meal; I am sure you will pull in some great extras.

You'll have to post a picture of the afghan, I am excited about it. And you have a long stretch of time off where you can get busy with it.

Sorry your son won't be joining you for thanksgiving. We are driving to my hubby's parents even though we just moved to Oak Ridge, TN from Wisconsin and got here Thursday this past week and then going to Thanksgiving on Tuesday in Maryland. Lot's of driving. Hope you have a good thanksgiving. Really wish your son could make it. Seems that happens a lot to you, like your ex always has some excuse.

Didn't he cancel last year for Thanksgiving or was it Christmas. Will he come for a late Thanksgiving? This might be the perfect time to try Ted Allen's deconstructed turkey recipe. He shared his stuffing on the Best Thing I Ever Made Thanksgiving and that sounded great! Enjoy your time off and you can knit or cross stitch and enjoy Food Network.

Enjoy your holiday. it's just my husband and I this year for the first time ever. My kids are both in California, and other family members are in the midwest. I'm going to cook a turkey and all the trimmings. We'll just have lots of leftovers.

I missed the first showing of Thanksgiving Live but am going to watch it at 6pm.

How about calling a transport service van for your son? He's on disability so he's qualified. I imagine they'll be working Thanksgiving.
