Day 77 & The Chain Gang

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Maybe you heard me mention joining a chain gang? My newest motivator, a chain of paper clips newly added to a shelf in our bathroom. Something very odd about these shiny, colorful do dads hanging there and the motivation they provide. A sense of accomplishment and a huge desire to make it 33 clips long! (thank you so very much to the sparker who added this secret of success and who's name I have since forgotten, I love it)
What drives you forward? The first five is a great start, you get a badge for that. Then the first 10, another badge and you really feel the wiggle room in your britches emoticon I saw somewhere around here that 12 pounds is the average where people start to notice your thinner, so I pushed forward. Like magic I've had one person every single day this week comment or ask me if I was thinner, emoticon emoticon
There's a 15 lb badge right around the corner and a new party dress in my closet emoticon
Would I have liked to have meet my original goal by the goal date, of course! I might be only halfway there by Dec 1 but I wouldn't trade one more pound for all the knowledge and tools I've gathered here and of course my lovely spark friends I met along the way emoticon
Keep searching for the things that drive you forward, your going to need more than one!

I love the paperclip idea! I am so going to use that now too! I only have plain silver ones right now but tomorrow I am going to stop on my way home from work to pick up some pretty colored ones. Thanks for the idea and good luck on your continued success!!
