Right now hubby's side of the family is causing me some headaches, and my mother can always cause some excitement like last night telling her caregiver to leave.
I've decided that having conversations with myself can be more constructive then having them with other people, especially family.
Some of my most productive conversations with myself go like this.
Today at the movie theatre:
I'd love to get some popcorn.
You don't need popcorn. Remember you are trying to lose weight.
Yah, yah.....How about some junior mints?
At work last week:
I really have a lot to do, I think I'll skip the gym.
Really? Do you think that's a good idea? You are already stressed out.
I don't feel like it.
Just do it!
At dinner the other day:
It's cold out, I'd love some comfort food. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy.
Um, really? You ARE trying to lose 20lbs in 20 weeks.
Do you have similar conversations with yourself?
Who wins most time?
