So, on Friday, I went to cash in on my consultation at the physical therapy place and see about getting set up with my underwater treadmill and dietitian consults. They didn't tell me too much, except that they would check out my insurance to see what I would be looking at spending. They did let me know that I would be coming three times a week on average for a workout and said nothing about the dietitian consult.
After further investigation, my insurance is only going to pay 80% of the bill, which is going to leave me paying anywhere from $100-$250 PER WEEK!!! OUCH!!! My wallet just winced!

HAHA!!! So, I'm thinking in these tough economic times, even with my crafty budgeting abilities, this is pretty much impossible and too big of a range for my financial comfort. So, I went to my personal gym to check into the aquatic access rates per month. For only $10 more a month, I can have full access to the giant swimming pool, all the classes that are offered in the pool, and if I so desired, extra lessons from instructors. Hmmm.....so I'm thinking, "my doc wanted to get me on an underwater treadmill to help me lose weight. Why couldn't I just do this instead?"
So, I emailed him what I found out about cost of the PT he prescribed and asked him if I could substitute this existing membership for my PT. Guess what? He said he completely understands and he is fine with my idea! I'm so excited! Plus, I will get a wide variety of options through the classes, such as swimming laps, underwater strength-training, even Aqua Zumba! I LOVE Zumba, but unfortunately, have never been able to handle it on these old feet of mine. So, thus begins a new chapter of fitness. I seriously hope this will help me with the weight loss. It's not too great to walk one day, and then be in such pain the following 3-4 days I get nothing else accomplished. I finally feel that ultimate success might be just over the horizon y'all! Plus I love being in the water!

Have a swimmingly Sparktacular Sunday!
