Well, it really is possible to make healthy choices at fast food places. I knew that, but I admit I haven't done it much( ok fairly rarely). I go out with a group of friends after church every week and due to time and cost considerations we usually end up at a fast food place. I really have the best of intentions going in( and it helps that they are all offering more healthy alternatives) but I usually end up giving in to the fatter, greasier alternatives(what can I say I love McDonald's french fries.)

Today I was determined to follow through and eat healthier, and I did!

We went to Arby's and I had a Farmhouse salad with oven roasted turkey. It was delicious.

I enjoyed it very much and it really filled me up. Eating healthier does require more thought and a little checking. but it is worth it. If you're not sure about the nutrition in an item, ask! Most places now have nutrition charts available. I'm glad I did because I almost got the salad with crispy chicken and I knew from past experience that crispy chicken isn't always the healthiest choice. I was right. the salad with the turkey was 240 calories. With chicken? 430! I saved 190 calories by making a better choice! I will be more diligent in this from now on. It doesn't take that much extra effort and the food is delicious! Happy eating all!
