So stood in line last night for 2 hours waiting to get the new wii u for my kids and got talking to a woman who is a little overweight. someone passing by offered me a cookie and i told them no because im losing weight right now. The girl ahead of me asked me how much i lost and the conversation just went from there. she asked me a bunch of questions about how i have done it and stuff. i told her i just changed the way i eat and im actually exercising and thats far of course. But i told her about this site and how it helps me to stay motivated when i need it most. there are so many success stories on here that help me. I think i have her very interested in this site and she wrote it down so she wouldnt forget it. I love this site and im so glad its free or else i wouldnt have anywhere to go to track my stuff and i would just get frustrated and give up on everything. I tell people about this site all the time but she was the first that wrote it down. I hope i helped her. makes me feel good :)

I agree, Jessie. I used FitDay before, but SparkPeople works better for me, especially the social interaction, articles, and motivation on the site. I, too, tell people about SparkPeople including my family doctor. In the past we have commiserated over weight issues. Tomorrow I will have lost 8-10 lbs since last visit and tell him & his staff about SparkPeople.
And, Jessie, I agree with the cost issue. 1) I'm not independently wealthy and think I should be able to do this on my own, 2) I don't usually buy things on the internet.

It makes you feel good to offer a helping hand to some-one ....hopefully the lady will
look into this site and become hooked like the rest of us.
